The ruling DMK on Sunday [30-5-2010] accepted the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) back into its alliance, but refused to fulfil PMK founder S Ramadoss’s immediate demand for a Rajya Sabha seat for his son and former Union minister Anbumani Ramadoss.


The high-level action committee of the DMK, which met in the party headquarters, however, decided to spare an RS seat for the PMK in the 2013 biennial elections if the party returns to the DMK-led Democratic Progressive alliance (DPA) fold now and contests the next assembly and state legislative council polls as a DMK ally. However, it is not clear if the PMK would accept the offer.


As the nominations for the six RS seats open on Monday, there is no sign of Anbumani Ramadoss being re-elected for the second term immediately. Given the present composition of the state assembly, the DMK will get three seats, Congress one and AIADMK two.


Karunanidhi told mediapersons in the party headquarters that the DMK candidates would be S Thangavel of Sankarankoil, K P Ramalingam and TM Selvaganapathy of Salem. While Thangavel had returned to the DMK after a brief stint in the MDMK, both Ramalingam and Selvaganapathy were formerly in the AIADMK. DMK puts PMK on probation to test loyalty


While Congress alliance have established big victory in 2004 and 2009 Parliament Elections, the alliance parties insisted Congress that they are only the main reason for the Great victory and they must be allotted sound cabinet port folios for their party members. The parties were never interested in people’s welfare and were standing for their self-benefit only. People must realize about the political party’s real intention in standing for the elections and they must avoid for voting for such parties in elections.


Kalaignar Karunanidhi might have provided Rajya Sabha Seats to his own party people, who have tirelessly served for his party. By providing seats to AIADMK members,and MDMK he will not get any appreciation from his own party members as well as from public.

Paramacharyal says, “That the learning of Sanskrit by Brahmins in Tamil Nadu is going very low. Brahmins have boycotted that language. They are not even having any talent in Tamil. They are also blank in Tamil. How many Brahmins know about Peria Puranam? Even in the Temples, the Kurukkal does not know Sanskrit and he is writing the Sanskrit in Tamil, memorizes it, and recites it. From foreign countries, foreigners are coming to India and learning Sanskrit with smile. We have neglected that language”.


Like this in 1963, September end, Brahmins at Trichchirappalli have given a reception to Kanchi Paramacharyal. While replying to the reception Paramacharyal replied, “To-day there is no Institutions or Guru Peetam available to give training in Sanskrit language and to recognize the persons for the prohit job”.


It is our humble request that the present Kanchi Kamakoti Peetathipathi Sri. Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal must take effort to establish an Institution and to give training in both the Tamil and Sanskrit language for the people willing to go for the job of Prohit and Kurukkal and to recognize them by giving proper certificates. By giving training in both Tamil and Sanskrit language, the Prohits and Kurukkal will be benefited and will develop smooth co-operation between the two communities.


Silampuchchelvar M.P.Sivagna Gramaniar in his book “Tamilar Thirumanam” says whether the prohit duties are in Tamil language or in Sanskrit, the Government Hindu endowment Board or Sankara Mutt or Saiva Mutt must take interest to give training to the willing aspirants of prohit job in a planned way.

In January-February 1965, people of Tamil Nadu rose up in protest against Hindi imposition. These protests, popularly known as the 1965 Anti-Hindi Agitation, were spearheaded by students.


The Madras anti-Hindi agitation of 26 January 1965 is a series of agitations that happened in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu (formerly Madras State). The agitations involved several mass protests, riots, student and political movements in Tamil Nadu, and concerned the official status of Hindi in the state and in the Indian Republic.


The new Constitution came into effect on 26 January 1950. Efforts by the Indian Government to make Hindi the sole official language after 1965 was not acceptable to many non-Hindi Indian states, who wanted the continued use of English.


The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led the opposition to Hindi and participated in the Anti Hindi Agitation movement in Tamil Nadu.


Arignar Anna Leader of DMK party instructed that that active DMK members like Actors, Advocates and Doctors need not participate in the Hindi agitatations and they can stay outside and do their important duties. That is the reason Puratchiththalaivar MGR not taken part in the agitation and hoisted black flag in his house and participated in the shooting at Goa wearing Black badge along with his co-actors.


Kalaignar Karunanidhi always criticized MGR in not taking part in the Anti Hindi agitation. This was replied in the BOOK Titled, “இந்தி ஆதிக்க எதிர்ப்புப்போரில் புரட்சித் தலைவர்.” “Puratchiththalaivar in the war of Anti Hindi domination”. I explained this in Tamil thro “You Tube”.

The International Crisis Group, an international human rights group based in Brussels, released an alarming report on [18-5-2010] Tuesday, timed to coincide with the first anniversary of the end of Sri Lanka's civil war. The report, "War Crimes in Sri Lanka," calls for an international inquiry into violations by Sri Lankan security forces, describing several incidents in which civilian targets, including hospitals and humanitarian aid shelters, were shelled. The group also claims to have evidence suggesting that civilian casualties in the last months of the war were much higher than earlier estimates: "The period of January to May 2009 saw tens of thousands of Tamil civilian men, women, children and the elderly killed, countless more wounded," the report said. The Sri Lankan Army defeated the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, on May 18, 2009, marked the official end of the war.


In Chennai Vaiko the leader of M.D.M.K. participated in the memorial remembrance to commemorate the one-year civil war anniversary, which saw 40,000 civilians die, including women and children, and 50,000 more wounded in the genocide caused by Rajpakshe Government in Tamil Eelam.


Around 75,000 Tamils, most of them belonging to younger generation, attended the remembrance and inauguration rally of Naam Thamilar political party at Virakanoor in the ancient Tamil city of Madurai in the Tamil Nadu state of India, vowing to fight for the creation Tamil Eelam by politically capturing the power of the Tamil Nadu state.

Filmmaker, Seeman has launched a political party on the first death anniversary of the party’s head, Maveeran Vellupillai Prabhakaran.


He converted his 'Naam Thamizhar' [We Tamils] movement, a social outfit, into a political party in Madurai.


“May 18 is a black day; a day Tamils can't forget that easily. The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the DMK government in Tamil Nadu have let down the Lankan Tamils,” said Seeman.


“Naam Thamizhar will fight for the welfare of Tamils across the globe. It will contest the forthcoming Assembly elections on its own,” added Seeman.


Hundreds and thousands of supporters gathered for this juncture and made it a successful event.

The temporary dome put up atop the Tamil Nadu new assembly building at a cost of Rs two crore ahead of its inauguration on March 13 2010 is being pulled down to give way to the permanent one that will cost around Rs 25 crore.


Workers have begun removing the gold-painted wooden planks of the replica, made by art director Thota Tharrani based on the design of German architects GMP International. With the makeshift dome set to come down and reduced to scrap, the installation of the real dome would begin next week and would take three months to complete, officials told News papers..


Though the government’s step to put up the artificial dome to showcase the ‘unique feature’ of the Assembly building to a galaxy of dignitaries, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, invited criticism from various quarters for “wastage of public money,”


With the money Rs.2Cr. the Tamil Nadu Government may spend it for the welfare of poor peoples living in slums and those who are all physically handicapped and living without any support. By telling Dravidian culture the Tamil Nadu Government has wasted the public money which came from the peoples pocket. The soul of Kamaraj, Rajaji and Anna will never pardon these mistakes.

Some sixty years back, Dravidian movement started in Tamil Nadu under the banner of Justice Party targeting only Brahmins and against worshipping and believing of Gods.


The Brahmin community people in Tamil Nadu have contributed more, by way of promoting Tamil language, Music, Dance, Drama, Science, Math’s and other subjects. They have done wonderful job in promoting Tamil language, culture and Tamil grammar and sacrificed their life for Indian Independence. By natural, they are very simple people with great intelligence and devotion to God.


It was in 1967 that Rajajis Swatantra party was part of the DMK led coalition that defeated Congress. On the eve of the elections Rajaji appeared in the Marina Beach DMK meeting and openly threw his support behind DMK. He opened his sentence as follows" Annavin thambimaarkale.. ennudaya Peranmaarkale.." The Congree was crippled. The Brahmin support too went to the D.M.K. Seats won DMK 179 and Congress 51. The election results were announced on 23 February 1967 and the DMK won an absolute majority on its own. Annadurai was nominated as Chief Minister of Madras State.


Contrary to some poll predictions, BSP won a majority in the 2007 elections, the first such majority since 1991. Mayawati managed to attract support from Brahmins. These people voted for a Dalit party for the first time, because BSP had offered seats to people from these communities.


My humble request to Kalaignar Karunanidhi is to think over the support rendered to him by the Brahmin people like Mootharingnar Rajaji, Dr.Ramamoorthy, Mr.Savi who have christened the name of “Kumkum” Tamil magazine, Gov’t Secretary Guhan, and his Brahmin Yoga Guru and other people like S.V.Sekhar and similar Brahmin people who are said to be having matrimonial connections with his family.


When Kalaignar supporting other caste people who are much attached with their own caste and never wants to detach from their caste, why cannot he consider and give a chance for the Brahmin people also who are willing to go with D.M.K’s ideology. DMK Party should remember that it was a partner in Vajpayee Government during 1999.


Kalaignar must leave his caste differences and support Tamil Brahmins by giving at least four seats to them in the coming 2011 General elections. He can select people like S.V.Sekhar whom he trusts more and even offer him a minister post for which the Brahmin community will be grateful to DMK.
